Successful entrepreneur, John Davies receives recognition from Ellesmere College’s Alumni Club

For over four decades, Mr John Davies and his business Lakeside Coaches have been providing transport for Ellesmere College's pupils. This has included transporting day pupils and those attending sporting fixtures and activities all over the country.

Richard Morris, the Ellesmerian Club Chairman said "On behalf of the Ellesmerian Club (the Alumni Club for all boys and girls) we are delighted to invite Mr John Davies to become an Honorary member of the Ellesmerian Club. The Club is typically only open to former pupils, but from time to time we make exceptions and invite some special individuals who have made significant contributions to the Ellesmere College community, to become life-long honorary members".

Mr Davies was presented with an engraved personalised memento from the Club and also an Old Ellesmerian Club tie by Richard Morris at his offices on the Ellesmere Business Park in front of his wife, Dorothy Davies, his son Gareth Davies and other Lakeside employees.

Richard Morris concluded by saying "this is just a small token to say thank you from the thousands of Ellesmerians you and your team of drivers have transported around the country over the many years. I cannot think of a more deserving person to receive this title of Honorary Old Ellesmerian.

Lakeside Coaches is the largest coach operator in North Shropshire and one of the most respected in the UK, with over 34 years experience of coach hire behind them. I am sure your drivers would be able to tell a few stories about the journeys with Ellesmere pupils, but that is for another time".
