Success In Scotland for Titans at British Swimming Championships

Success always results from a combination of factors and here at Ellesmere the combination of vision, coaching and squad strategy really pays off for our young swimmers, who now make up 10% of the GB Squad.

This year's British Swimming Championships were held at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh and delivered another chapter of extraordinary success for our students. Obvious highlights are:

· Freya Anderson (17) being crowned British Senior Champion and retaining her 100m Freestyle title; and

· Charlie Hutchison (15) taking the British Silver Medal in the men's 400m Individual Medley.

However, with 28 qualifying swimmers at this year's championships, the strength and depth of our swimming programme was very evident; delivering 13 final appearances and a host of both regional and club records. Commenting on Ellesmere's outstanding performances, Rebecca Adlington (Double Olympic Champion) said, "Ellesmere College has really come on in the last few years."
