School to host Wedding Show

Holding events at the School is nothing new. All the way through its 126 year history, the Schools doors have been open for third party events to be held in its beautiful buildings and grounds.  In recent times these have ranged from a 400 guest Millennium Ball in aid of Save the Children Fund to a small family gathering to celebrate a babys baptism.

Over the last few years too, the School has also seen a number of wedding celebrations, including a double wedding breakfast for twin brides and a largely musical celebration that included a recital on the Schools Shulze organ.

From a small intimate event to a large all-encompassing wedding celebration,  Ellesmere College has much to offer. With en-suite accomodation, guests can enjoy all that is on offer at Ellesmere College, from the use of the beautiful buildings to the outdoor facilities. When the festivities are over, guests can stay overnight and after breakfast enjoy playing a round of golf, or having a game of croquet against friends and family.

A recent bride, Helen Davenport, who held her wedding breakfast and evening celebration at the School commented,  Set in beautiful grounds with exquisite locations for some stunning photographs, Ellesmere College is a wonderful location to celebrate your wedding. With a beautiful building, steeped in history and tradition, there is plenty of scope for images to capture the delightful moments of a wedding celebration.

Following an increasing number of enquiries, Ellesmere College Enterprises, in conjunction with Salt Solutions, the event management company, have teamed-up with their third party event partners to hold a Wedding Show on Sunday 24th October and launch the School as a wedding venue location. Taking place between 11 am and 4pm, there will be an array of local suppliers at the event. There will be two bridal and occasional event wear fashion shows by Severn Brides, Shrewsbury and Just The Right Thing, Oswestry.  Another sponsor of the event, Blue Florists, will have their floral designs on display, wedding food and drink will be available to taste from Roslin Catering and Tipples Bar and a host of local suppliers showcasing their wares and services to suit every budget.

Local photographer, Phil Barrett from PbArtWorks who has taken many photographs for the School, and a sponsor of the event will be offering brides-to-be the opportunity to have their photographs taken during the afternoon. Phil commented, This is a stunning setting for any wedding and I urge everyone to come along to Ellesmere College on the 24th October to see what it has to offer.

Hazel Wakefield added, Ellesmere College has all the ingredients to be a fantastic event with a catwalk show, tasting, flowers galore and delicious cakes. For additional information email weddings@ellesmere.com.
