John Paul then went on to win the Advanced Strings class with another Year 9 pupil, Luke Taylor, achieving second place.

A talented Year 7 pupil, Naomi Craig from Clutton in Cheshire, achieved two second places. She played her violin in the Intermediate Strings section and the saxaphone in the Intermediate Woodwind section. Luca Kuhn, a Year 10 pupil from Munchen, Germany, achieved 3rd place singing 'Over the Rainbow' in the Light Opera class.

Roger Paul, Director of Music, commented, 'I am very pleased with our pupils and their achievements. This is a reflection of the standard of young musicians coming through Ellesmere College. The pupils enjoy performing and festivals give them further opportunity to do so.'

On Sunday 17th May Ellesmere College Music Scholars will be entertaining the School's Open Day visitors between 2pm and 4pm during Afternoon Tea in Big School.
