Ellesmere College Pupils Attend French Study Day in Birmingham

Twenty five Year 11 pupils from Ellesmere College attended a French study day in the Great Hall at the University of Birmingham designed to complement what they have already learnt in the classroom and help them achieve the best possible grade at GCSE level. The pupils took part in a range of workshops covering the four main skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing which are covered in the syllabus, and were also treated to a series of entertaining sketches performed by the theatre group Scratch.

Head of Modern Foreign Languages, Liam Bambridge, was pleased with the day as a whole and commented, 'Our pupils work hard in the classroom, and it is great to be able to give them the opportunity to use the skills which they have acquired in a different environment. They participated enthusiastically and diligently throughout the workshops, and thus were able to gain a lot from the experience'.
