Ellesmere College Doubles In Size Following Land Purchase

The College grounds have doubled in size following a major purchase of land.

The land, which became available when a farm adjacent to the College came up for sale, is next to the College's main playing fields.

The land purchase follows on from spending almost £2.5m on major developments in 2006/2007, and coincides with the College entering its 125th anniversary year with record pupil numbers in the school.

The new land will enable more sports field to be created and - eventually - for the College's current 9-hole golf course to be relocated. The relocation of the golf course will enable additional classrooms and boarding facilities to be built on the current golf site.

The land purchase increases the College's site from 70 to 144 acres.
