Drama at Ellesmere College

The Schools Arena Arts is delighted to present New Century Theatres version of Oscars Wildes classic The Importance of being Ernest. This entertaining farce, highlighting the importance of ones name, scones and hand luggage, is coming to the Arts Centre on Friday 4th November 2011 at 7.30pm. Here for one night only this witty tale of manners, hierarchy and romance costs only 4 a ticket so dont miss out!

On the 22nd November our Upper Sixth Theatre Studies students will be performing their devised Reminiscence theatre piece. This is their main practical work for the year and is based on the memories of the members of Ellesmeres own Age Concern group. The performance will begin at 7pm and run for approximately hour. So step back in time and see the world through different eyes, hear the songs of yesteryear and laugh at some good olde yarns- its bound to make your day a little brighter..

On the 30th November our GCSE students will be performing their devised pieces, based on the stimulus behind the door. Students have been working on incorporating Brechtian and Physical Theatre styles into their imaginative work this term and have produced some exciting work.  All they need now is an audience. Tickets are free and doors open at 6.30pm. Performances will begin at 7pm and we estimate running time will be about an hour. Tickets are free, but will need to be booked.

So, make the dark winter nights a little merrier and join us for the evening by booking tickets through our box office at boxoffice@ellesmere.com or phoning on 01691622231.
