Adam, 26, Glamorgan County Cricket Club's opening bowler will be running a coaching session alongside Rod Jones, Director of Cricket at Ellesmere College.

Adam made his debut for Glamorgan in 2008 after spells with Northamptonshire and Warwickshire. He picked up 30 championship wickets at an excellent average of 18 in this debut season. Left Arm Fast bowler Adam is at the School to develop the association between Ellesmere College and Glamorgan County Cricket Club.

The Cricket Academy, headed by Rod Jones, ECB Level 3 Coach Tutor provides a player pathway linking into Regional and beyond. Links have also been forged with Lancashire County Cricket Club.

Rod Jones is delighted to have Adam visiting the School for the Academy Day and commented, 'Like the other Academies in the School, cricket players are coached to an elite level whilst receiving a first class education and we are delighted that Adam is joining us and participating in a training session.'

Ellesmere has in place a sporting programme that aims to produce international standard individuals in Cricket, Rugby, Tennis and Swimming. This is an opportunity to meet the Coaches involved, understand the philosophy and look at the opportunities to be gained from the scholarship programme at Ellesmere College.

Following a welcome presentation by Brendan Wignall, Headmaster, budding young cricketers and their parents will be able to meet both Rod Jones and Adam Shantry as well as Ian Williams, Director of Sports at Ellesmere College who will field questions from players and parents regarding the Academy.

The Ellesmere College Academy Day will also give similar opportunities for talented rugby and tennis players to learn about the well-established and highly successful Ellesmere College Rugby and Tennis Academies. The Ellesmere College Titans senior swimming coach, Jon Pardoe, will also be presenting the opportunities for talented swimmers to join the elite development swimming Academy that we launched at the School in June 2008.
