Successful Lower School Open Morning

The Ellesmere College Lower School Open Morning on Saturday 14th October was a hugh success with a record number of families joining current pupils and their parents for a tour of the School.

The Director of Admissions, Paul Goodwin, commented: 'With a record number of pupils starting at the School in September, we were expecting a busy morning of visitors and were delighted to have had the opportunity to show so many families around Lower School.'

Visiting children had the opportunity to participate in a number of activities which included; making edible knots with the Ellesmere College Cub Scout Leader, making badges with Sixth Formers, having a game of chess on the outdoor board and experimenting with music making on a number of wind instruments.

Members of The Lower School Choir entertained visitors with a variety of songs and other pupils had the opportunity to perform instrumental pieces. A group of Year 4 and 5 gymnasts also performed during the morning.

Paul Goodwin confirmed 'Visiting pupils will be invited back to spend a 'taster day' at the School in the near future.

Families wishing to make a personal visit to the School can arrange this through Olwen Oldham, the Admissions Secretary on 01691 622321.'
