RUGBY SCHOLAR TO TRAIN WITH LLANELLI SCARLETS

A talented 19 year old rugby player, currently studying for his A-Levels at a North Shropshire school, has recently been selected to train with the the Llanelli "Scarletts' Rugby Club in South Wales.  In September 2003, Neil Morris joined the Sixth Form at Ellesmere College as a Rugby Scholar. Under the watchful eye of  Paul Goodwin,  the Ellesmere College Director of Rugby, Neil's talent has been nurtured and he is now absolutely delighted to have recently gained a place to practice alongside the professionals at this prestigious rugby club. Paul Goodwin said "I am delighted that a member of the College 1st XV Rugby Team  has been successful to proceed through to this Premier League Club level to further progress his rugby playing skill. Since the College scholarship scheme  exists to give talented rugby players the opportunity to join the College Rugby Academy, I would encourage parents to consider this option for Sixth Form entry.'

Neil also commented "My initial aim is to play for the Scarletts at the U20 level and then to progress into the 1st team, which will then give me the opportunity for some appearances in the Celtic League towards the end of next season. I also hope to be capped for the Wales' U21 side next season.'

Ellesmere College now have direct links with Worcester in the English Premier League and Llanelli in the Welsh Celtic League.
