New Chaplain joins staff.

After many years in the Royal Army Chaplain's Department, Father Robert Williams has joined the Ellesmere College staff as the new Chaplain. The recent Service of Installation held in the College Chapel was led by Alan, Bishop of Shrewsbury, who is a member of the School Council. Also in attendance were the Rural Dean of Ellesmere, John Vernon and Steven Harvey, the Senior Provost of the Woodard Corporation.

Father Robert Williams was ordained as a priest by the Bishop of Saint Asaph, North Wales in 1975. He has also worked as a priest in a parish and as a chaplain and teacher in a school. As a young man he also served as a constable in the Cheshire Constabulary.

Father Robert is an experienced counsellor and regards each person given to his spiritual charge as very important whatever their religion, creed or belief. He commented "As the Ellesmere College Chaplain, I can be contacted directly by pupils, parents or guardians and any member of staff about any pastoral or spiritual issue.'

Brendan Wignall, Headmaster said, "We welcome Father Robert to Ellesmere College. The Chapel has traditionally played an important role in the life of pupils at the College and we look forward to Father Robert's significant contribution to the School community.'
