The academic year at Ellesmere College Lower School began with the arrival of 8-year-old pupils to join a new Year 4 class. This class has its own dedicated teacher supported by subject specialists. Learning support can also be given to individuals. The Lower School occupies the same beautiful seventy-acre rural site as the main school. This offers regular opportunities for all classes to use the outstanding facilities available throughout Ellesmere College. Following the opening of a new junior boarding house, pupils may also now board from Year 6, giving 10 year olds the opportunity to live in this stimulating and caring environment on a weekly or full-time basis. Today's Lower School pupils have the advantage of purpose built facilities and small class sizes, allowing the individual attention so highly valued by parents. The College's traditional strengths in Sport and Culture are ingrained in the Lower School ethos. Exceptional opportunities exist to take part in a wide range of sporting, dramatic, musical and other adventurous activities. After-school activities and a homework session are available until 5.30pm each day. A dedicated daily bus service transports pupils from Nantwich, Tarporley Chester, Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Whitchurch, Market Drayton and Wrexham. Neil Price, Head of Lower School and his team welcome all interested parents and their children to visit on Saturday 11th October 2003 between 10am and 1pm.
