Christopher Astbury.House Cricket was a lovely affair, held on a fine Summer afternoon and Phillips House came out on top. They were also top House in the Key Stage 2 swimming gala.An adapted Sports day took place for the pupils. Sadly, we could not have parents and we missed the atmosphere and picnic that such an event generates. We are hopeful that we can be back to normal in the Summer of 2022. Phillips House again came out on top by a narrow margin. A good year for them!The final day of the term was lovely. The sun was shining and it was a bonus that we could actually hold an End of Year Assembly outside, with all Lower School teachers and pupils. It was good to end on a positive note for the summer holiday. The CSN award for Leadership was presented to Hugh Cornwell.Annie Hutchon was presented a prize for being nominated for her It is also appropriate at this stage to formally thank the Chapel Prefect,display of kindness through the academic year. Finlay Baggaley, for his sterling work in the Chapel and also the Deputy Head Boy and Girl, Harry Underhill and Isabella Moore. Thomas and Adam Jacques were super Prefects too and helped motivate the younger pupils. We had a lovely end of term evening to celebrate their achievements and played the traditional game of croquet with teachers vs pupils. The teachers held onto the trophy this year! Maybe there could be a rematch when the pupils are in Upper School. This year the time wisely and maintained their fitness levels to great effect. Samuelcup was presented to Heywood. Shone, Eve Scales, Daniel Thelwell, Tabitha Gallagher, Jesse Whale, Imogen Spencer-Blow. Adam Crompton, Florence Sweeney, Oliver LoudEven though we faced the challenges of 2020/21 with true Ellesmerian and Bella Spencer-Blow were fastest male and female in their respectivespirit; we are looking forward to next term.
