Are you an international student thinking about studying in the UK? Our International Boarding Taster Experience from the 16th – 19th October 2025 offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in British boarding school life before making this big decision.
Boarding at our school is more than just staying on campus—it's about becoming part of a close-knit, supportive community. Pupils form deep friendships that often last a lifetime, sharing experiences, challenges and celebrations together. Our boarding houses are warm and welcoming, with dedicated staff who provide round-the-clock care and guidance. Whether it's a quiet chat after a busy day or cheering each other on at weekend events, the boarding environment fosters a true sense of family, belonging and emotional wellbeing.
Over four exciting days, you’ll live, learn and connect with Ellesmere students from the UK and around the world—experiencing first-hand what it’s like to be part of our vibrant boarding school community.
What to Expect
During your stay, you will:
- Live in a boarding house with current students and experience the day-to-day life of an Ellesmere boarder
- Attend lessons across a range of A level and IB subjects with our experienced teaching staff
- Develop and learn Study Skills from research approaches and techniques to presentations and public speaking
- Attend the Careers Workshop and have the opportunity to speak with universities and employers about a wide choice of career pathways
- Join the many co-curricular activities such as sports, music, drama and other clubs, including the chance to watch the “House Plays”
- Explore British culture through local excursions and social events
- Meet our Head of Sixth Form and Pastoral team and learn about the support available to international students
- Make friends and build confidence in a welcoming, inclusive and supportive educational environment
Who Can Apply?
This programme is open to all international students currently aged 15–16 who are considering entry into the Sixth Form (ages 16 – 18) into a UK boarding school from September 2026.
We welcome students from all backgrounds and nationalities who are curious, open-minded and excited to explore these new and exciting opportunities.
The cost of this weekend programme is £250.
This will include return coach travel to Manchester Airport, accommodation, education, food, learning resources, any entry fees for activities and use of all school facilities whilst on site.
