Snowdon Run 2025 – A Remarkable Effort!

This past weekend, a determined group of Ellesmere College staff and students took on the incredible challenge of the Snowdon Run — a 71.5-mile relay from the school gates to the summit of Yr Wyddfa, the highest point in Wales.

Setting off at 4:00am, all teams made it to Pen-y-Pass car park by 3:30pm, despite adverse weather conditions that unfortunately prevented them from reaching the summit. Nevertheless, their resilience and team spirit were truly inspiring!

The Snowdon Run has a proud history at Ellesmere, first launched in 1999. It paused during the COVID pandemic, when it was reimagined as a virtual event on Strava, allowing mass participation during the daily exercise hour.

This year’s run supports Pancreatic Cancer UK, a cause close to the hearts of the Ellesmere community.
