Lower School Summer Concert 2025 – A Joyful Celebration of Young Talent

On the evening of Monday 23rd June 2025, the heart of Ellesmere College was filled with music, laughter, and applause as the Lower School Summer Concert took centre stage in Big School. This much-anticipated annual event brought together students, families, staff, and members of the wider Ellesmere community for a truly uplifting celebration of musical life in the Lower School.

From the very first note, the concert radiated confidence, quality and infectious energy. The evening’s programme showcased a vibrant mix of performances from our Choir, Junior Band, Musical Theatre groups, Rock Bands, and a number of talented soloists. Each act brought its own unique flair, and the variety of musical styles on display ensured there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The Junior Band opened the evening with a beautifully harmonised set that set the tone for what was to come. Our Musical Theatre groups lit up the stage with expressive and engaging renditions, while the Rock Bands brought a dynamic edge that had the audience tapping their feet and cheering along. Soloists throughout the night impressed with their poise and musical maturity, delivering performances that belied their years.

What stood out most was the confidence and enthusiasm with which every student performed. Whether it was their first time on stage or they were seasoned performers, each young musician gave their all, supported by a warm and appreciative audience.

The concert was not only a showcase of musical talent but also a testament to the supportive and creative environment fostered within the Lower School. It was clear that the students had worked hard in rehearsals and their efforts were rewarded with rapturous applause and heartfelt praise.

Guests were also able to enjoy refreshments from the bar and take part in a lively raffle, adding to the fun and community-focused atmosphere of the evening.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the performers, music staff, technical crew and volunteers who made the evening such a success. And of course, thank you to the families, friends and community members who came along to support and celebrate with us.

The Lower School Summer Concert 2025 was a night to remember – a joyful reminder of the power of music to bring people together and a wonderful reflection of the talent and spirit of our students.
