Julie Takes on Mount Olympus Challenge for Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith

One of our dedicated members of staff, Julie, has recently completed an incredible fundraising challenge, trekking through Northern Greece to climb two peaks of the legendary Mount Olympus in support of Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith.

The challenge was undertaken to raise funds for the children’s hospices, helping them continue to provide the vital care and support they offer to children, young people, and families across our community.

Julie’s commitment to the charity spans many years. Previously, she organised the College’s annual Classic Car Rally, which ran alongside the Art Exhibition and raised around £5,000 per event for Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith. Since moving to a part-time role, Julie has been unable to continue organising the rally and began looking for a new way to support the charity’s important work.

When the opportunity to take part in the Mount Olympus trek arose, Julie knew it would be the perfect way to continue her fundraising efforts while embracing a new challenge. With the support of the College, which granted her a three-day leave of absence, she embarked on the adventure and successfully reached both summits.

So far, Julie has raised an impressive £845 towards her £1,000 target, and donations continue to come in. Her determination, generosity, and commitment to supporting others are truly inspiring.

We are incredibly proud of Julie’s achievement and grateful for the difference her fundraising will make to Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith. We wish her every success as she continues her journey towards her fundraising goal.
