Day 2 Energy & Artistry at the Oswestry Youth Music Festival 2026

Day 2: Energy & Artistry at the Oswestry Youth Music Festival

The second day of the festival has been a whirlwind of music-making, with our pupils embracing every opportunity to perform with passion and vigour. From the delicate touch of the piano to the power of the stage, the atmosphere at the Guildhall is truly inspiring.

Morning Melodies

The day began at the keyboard, where Jack and Bobby took part in the 13 & Under Piano Solo competition. Both gave wonderful performances, achieving Commended and Honours marks—a testament to their hard work and focus.

Vocal Highlights: 13 & Under

The afternoon saw a brilliant showcase of vocal talent in the Pop and Musical Theatre categories. It was a joy to see our singers support one another and take the stage with such confidence:

  • Pop & Easy Listening: A fantastic result for Chloe and Florence , who both placed 1st (winning the Young Popstar Trophy and the Rosalie Inskip Award respectively). They were followed by Ellie  in 2nd and Ania Jones in 3rd.
  • Musical Theatre: The storytelling continued with Tom Ford and Ellie both taking 1st place, bringing home the Philbin and Hancock trophies.

Harmony & Collaboration

To close out an exceptional day, our pupils were involved in every performance of the 15 & Under Vocal Duet class. Seeing them collaborate and find their harmony together was a highlight:

  • 1st: Jasper & Florence (Sounds Young Trophy)
  • 2nd: Florence & friend
  • 3rd: Camilla & Poppy / Doug & friend

A Note of Thanks

None of this would be possible without the tireless support behind the scenes. A huge thank you to our singing teacher, Mrs Gaenor Ellis, for her expert accompaniment and for being such a steady source of encouragement for all our pupils throughout the day.

The journey continues! Tomorrow, we look forward to our 15 & Under singers taking their turn in the spotlight.
