Summer Music Gala Concerts starts the Summer Term off in style!

Ellesmere College Football Academy announces formal partnership with Paris Saint Germain (PSG) UK Academy. 

A huge congratulations to Natt Kritchanarat on receiving an offer from Trinity College, Cambridge to study Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology.

We celebrated the Chinese New Year a little early this year due to the half-term break. To mark the Year of the Horse, our students who attend Chinese lessons hosted a dumpling-making afternoon.

Last night (12th Feb 2026), our students came together for an evening of friendly competition at our annual House Singing event.

The theme for 2026 was the spectacular Eurovision. The standard was exceptional, with each House delivering energetic, creative performances that captured the spirit of the contest.

Ellesmere College marked the official opening of its Key Stage 2 Reading Room with a special visit from multi-award-winning Welsh author Caryl Lewis, who spent the morning inspiring pupils with a talk about her writing life and her latest fantasy novel, Quill and the Last Generation.

Ellesmere College students are celebrating their GCSE results today.  The results published today saw 31% of all grades in the top 9-7 range (A*/A)

Ellesmere students are celebrating a 97% pass rate at A level today, with some outstanding performances, with students securing places at top universities across the UK and overseas! 41.% of grades were the top band of A*/A/B – with the girls securing 62.5% of the top-level grades.

At Ellesmere, IB results were higher than the global average of 30 points, out of a possible 45, with students successful in the Diploma achieving an impressive average score of 34.5 points.

Ellesmere students have once again excelled with their ESB results across Year 10 and Year 12.

This much-anticipated annual event brought together students, families, staff and members of the wider Ellesmere community for a truly uplifting celebration of musical life in the Lower School.

Ellesmere College Students have been recognised for thousands of hours of voluntary work.

Students at Ellesmere College have completed 2,548 hours of volunteering as part of their Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) award scheme in the year to April 2025.

The festival, in its 47th year, saw a record 525 entries involving about 1,000 young musicians from 40 schools across Shropshire and North Wales – with Ellesmere College collecting 20 first places.

A team from Ellesmere College has lifted a national pistol shooting title – a record fourth success in as many years for the Shropshire school.

The win at the national final of the British Shooting Schools Pistol Championships follows on from impressive showings by the three students both individually and as a team at the regional championships at the end of last year.
