Founded in 1884, the school offers students between the ages of 7 to 18 the chance to achieve success in both their studies and a wide range of activities, including music, art, sport and drama, in a happy, friendly atmosphere.

Ellesmere College is a fully co-educational school set in the beautiful English countryside. Since its founding in 1884, Ellesmere has retained its individual student focus while promoting a family, community atmosphere. An incredibly friendly boarding school, students from ages seven to 18 are encouraged to try new things and explore their potential, part of the College's innovative and dynamic curriculum.

Great Britain has a world-wide reputation for its high standards of education and Ellesmere College supports that tradition by concentrating on the academic and social needs of every student. We prepare students for their GCSEs, A-Levels and the International Baccalaureate as well as giving them the opportunity to enjoy a full and varied social programme.

Our specially-trained teachers work closely with students who need to increase their English level as quickly as possible. Each student is supported with classes in small groups to develop their English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

Boarders will grow and learn within larger friendship groups, share experiences and form life-long relationships. With a wide range of activities, clubs, societies, sports, arts and music performances on offer, Ellesmere pupils gain a unique educational experience.

Standing in its own stunning grounds covering more than 50 hectares, the school is conveniently located near the small, historic town of Ellesmere, and is less than 100 kilometres from both of England's second major cities, Manchester and Birmingham.

This ideal location means students can benefit from the vast range of activities both cities have to offer whilst living and studying in a tranquil English country setting.
