Talented Mathematicians Participate in Regional Masterclass

As part of the Schools Gifted and Talented Programme, a group of Year 8 and Year 9 pupils have recently had the opportunity to participate in a series of Mathematics Masterclasses at the University of Liverpool.

The 4 pupils, James Bateman, Sebastian McCarthy and Jake Thomas, all in Year 9 and Georgina Freer-Carmichael in Year 8, have taken the opportunity to participate, meet other pupils with a liking for the subject and have fun together looking at Mathematics in new challenging ways.

Susan Bogue, Mathematics teacher and Gifted and Talented Coordinator for Mathematics at the School, explained, The Masterclasses are a series of interactive talks, problem solving sessions, workshops and hands-on computer experience aimed at pupils with an enthusiasm for Mathematics.
