Hockey Pupils To Attend U13 Midlands Hockey Junior Academy Squad

Following a recent Under 13 regional hockey tournament, 2 talented hockey players from the School have recently been invited to attend the U13 Midlands Hockey Junior Academy Squad.

Four pupils played in the Shropshire Hockey team in the recent Under 13 Midlands Tournament for the first time in about 12 years. The Year 8 girls were Mia Foster and Lottie Hulme, Jess Martin Jones and Tilly Walker, who was also the Shropshire  teams captain The team went on to win the tournament, the first time that Shropshire had done so in 12 years.

This regional hockey tournament was a selection opportunity for the Midlands Junior Academy Squad and much to the delight of 2 of the girls, Jess Martin Jones and Tilly Walker, they have learnt that they have been selected for this squad. Head of PE and Games, Helen Davenport commented, Besides their considerable hockey playing talent, the girls are both strong team players. Tilly and Jess deserve a place in the Midlands Squad. We wish them well as they begin their advanced training with the regional squad.
