Head of Girls' Games Represent Wales in South Africa

Today, a sports teacher from a North Shropshire School flies out to South Africa to play cricket in the Women’s Welsh Cricket Team.

Representing Wales in a Four Nations Womens’ Indoor Cricket Tournament to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, Helen Goss, Head of Girls’ Games at Ellesmere College will have four days preparation and training with her team mates before the week long tournament which begins on Sunday 8th October. Helen and her fellow team mates will be playing against teams from South Africa, Australia and England. Teams will play each other twice during the tournament.

Helen Goss commented, “I was delighted to have been picked to play for Wales and excited to be playing in this tournament. The Welsh Womens’ Cricket Squad was only formed four years ago and to compete against the best in the world is an excellent opportunity for us as a squad and for Wales.”
