Shooting Success

The Junior Development Shooting Squad recently spent a weekend as guests of the National Smallbore Rifle Association at their headquarters in Bisley, Surrey.

Jim Quinlain, the Junior Shooting Coach at Ellesmere College explained, we are on track to produce the largest squad of junior shooters that Ellesmere College has ever had. The weekend was organised as a training weekend in preparation for the next Prep Schools Shooting Association Centenary Championships which will be held in March 2006. Ten pupils aged between 10 and 13 participated in the weekend which represents half of the Junior Squad who will be taken to the Championships at the Lord Roberts Centre in Bisley next year.

During the weekend The Best Performer on the 50 metre range, built for the Commonwealth Games in 2002, was Mathew Steggles who was presented with a certificate and tie by the Headmaster at the recent end of term assembly.
