Tennis Academy
Tennis is an integral and important part of the Physical Education and Recreation curriculum at Ellesmere College and access to the facilities and coaching is available to all students, whatever their current level in the game.
The team of licensed coaches monitors the progress of each individual and many students take advantage of the additional coaching which is available to individuals or groups. Our aim is to promote a love of the game and to develop effective technique and optimise a player's performance potential.
Ellesmere aims to allow young players to fulfil their potential by providing a comprehensive tennis programme within the framework of a varied and supportive academic and community life.
Help is given in advising a competitive schedule as well as individualised fitness programmes.
Facilities
The College has six floodlit hard courts. In 2004 a £1.3 million sports hall was opened which includes an indoor court. It has a fitness suite with facility for free weights and an indoor swimming pool opened in September 2007. Future plans include the construction of an allweather pitch (to include tennis courts) and an indoor tennis centre.
The College has a link with the Wrexham Tennis Centre which offers additional excellent facilities including six indoor acrylic courts and six outdoor acrylic courts.
