In 2011, we have run 2 very successful cricket camps, in April we ran our pre-season camp which help all players prepare for the upcoming season at club, school or county level. And then in the summer we have the Andrew Flintoff Cricket Academy at the School with over 60 children taking part in fun cricket sessions. The highlight of the week was visit from former England and Leicestershire wicket keeper, Paul Nikon who lead a fielding session with the children, answered questions and signed numerous autographs.
The academy is a fun-filled cricket course for all cricket enthusiasts and for those who want to just have a go. The week is filled with quality coaching, challenges and games.
Freddie says ‘I’m delighted my Academy is at Ellesmere this year. Although it is sad that my playing career has come to an end it means that I am able to devote more time to my Academy. I've been working on the curriculum and we've got some fantastic coaches on board’.
