Nick Pettingale is the Director of Development. Nick began his career as a Graphic Designer, specialising in company branding and point of sale material for businesses across Europe. During his design career he visited friends in Ethiopia at the time of the ’85 famine which set him on a path of development and charity work. After helping to establish two charities there and a UK based charity focussed on disadvantaged young people in the Midlands, he renewed his business career operating at board level in three national and international companies.
More recently Nick was a consultant for a large London based charity supporting the homeless, and latterly set up a charitable Foundation at Stamford Endowed Schools in Lincolnshire. After funding some small capital projects he successfully launched a Bursary Fund which is currently supporting more than 28 children in the Schools.
Nick is also Chairman of The Institute of Development Professionals in Education.

Doris Taylor is PA to Nick and Admin Assistant to the OE Club. Before joining Ellesmere College in November 2010, Doris ran the German Sales Office and a team of sales agents for a British publishing company, specialising in publications for the MOD. For 12 years she successfully managed all aspects of sales and advertising campaigns for 12 annual publications, dealing with small local businesses as well as with large international companies. After several moves as an Army couple, Doris and her husband have now settled in Shropshire.
Doris is very excited about her position at Ellesmere as she is able to make good use of her communication, research and marketing skills. “I believe that the relationships you form at school will stay with you throughout your life, whether they are lasting friendships or the bond with the school. I enjoy working alongside Nick and the OE Club to maintain and strengthen these relationships and to aid them and the future of Ellesmere College.”
