Middle School
For pupils aged 13 to 16 studying in National Curriculum Years 9-11
In Year 9 the pupils move into the Middle School and follow a broad and balanced curriculum with some options to pursue new subjects as a taster course, pre GCSE. They may also opt for Latin, French, Classical Civilisation, Drama, in addition to the usual foundation subjects.
At the conclusion of Year 9 (Key Stage 3) pupils choose four options from a wide range of subjects which, together with the core curriculum of Mathematics, English Language and Literature and all three Sciences, are studied to GCSE.
There is a separate one-year pre-sixth form course available for overseas pupils who aspire to join the Sixth Form but need to complete their compulsory schooling first and wish to do so in the UK.
