Lower School
For pupils aged 7 to 13, studying in National Curriculum Years 4-8
The Lower School is housed in a purpose-built facility within the campus. There are in excess of 180 pupils in Lower School with class sizes of approximately 16.
In years 4, 5 and 6 much of the academic curriculum is delivered by a class teacher whilst subject specialist staff are available for Physical Education and Games, Art and Music. Both literacy and numeracy projects are embraced. In Years 7 and 8 lessons are delivered by subject specialists either in Lower School or making use of the facilities of the Senior School as appropriate.
A recent innovation is the introduction of an Expressive Arts programme across years 4 to 8. Sport is well catered for, enjoying the benefit of the use of senior school facilities and the input of specialist staff.
The Lower School possesses its own networked IT facility with connections to the Internet. The facility is used for the general teaching of ICT and to deliver our integrated learning system 'SuccessMaker'. A balanced curriculum designed to promote the strengths of each pupil is delivered.
