Support for Learning
Ellesmere College is a member of CReSTeD, Council for the Registration of Schools Teaching Dyslexic Pupils, category DU (Dyslexia Unit), and has specialised in teaching dyslexic students since the 1970s.
The Learning Support Department is housed in the centre of the main teaching area in a newly built suite of rooms containing individual teaching rooms and a learning support centre. There are specialist teachers who provide individual or paired tuition. Pupils with Dyslexia acheived good GCSE grades with 77% gaining A* to C grades. Ellesmere hosts an annual conference on learning support matters which attracts prestigious speakers.
