I first visited Ellesmere as an 8 year old competing in the then Shropshire Festival of Verse and Prose. I didn't win, but I still remember being driven up the main drive and being in awe of the building.
Thankfully my parents agreed too, and I have seven years of many fond and happy memories.
I started at Ellesmere in 2004 which was the first year that girls were accepted into the Lower School. I began as a day pupil and then boarded from Shell to Sixth Form first in St Aidan's and then St Oswald's with my competitive house being Iona (Kilda being the other). I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Ellesmere and it has shaped me into being who I am today.
I am now a Junior Sister on a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in London - specialising in the nursing care of premature babies who require surgery. I also the Chairperson of the National Neonatal Surgical Benchmarking Group, that produces best practice guidelines for all UK hospitals.
I live with my husband in Hertfordshire and love cooking and baking - not quite bake off standard but I do make some lovely chocolate chilli cookies. In our spare time we enjoy the countryside, long walks and cycling, something I picked up from completing my Bronze; Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards whilst at Ellesmere).
I feel honoured that in the 125th year of the Ellesmerian Club I have been elected as President, and am looking forward to help promote the Club and encourage more members to become involved."
